So a little follow-up on my “Baby Daddy, Best Friend, Amazing” post:

Funny how my plans change in the blink of an eye, for all you curious to know what I got my husband it will be in a later post as he actually hasn’t gotten a birthday gift from me yet.  Oh how funny is that, to make it even better he won’t get it until the 11th of July almost a month after his birthday.  In my family we do family birthdays so if there is more than one person with a birthday in a single month we combine them and have one big birthday it is fun and always us to all get together most of the time and see each other at least once a month, funny we all live in the same town but sometimes the only time we see each other is at the birthday celebration.  Well we are having Shane’s birthday, my cousin Tammy and my sisters’ birthday all on the 11th so it shall be a good time had by all.
To give you an update on his present because I am afraid you might all be slightly disappointed with his gift from me. I will give you a history, normally for Shane’s birthday I give him motorcycle gear as he is usually in need of it and I go for the expensive stuff because if it is cheap Shane will destroy it, I have a saying: ”if something lasts him more than a year it is worth buying stock in”, laugh but know I am not kidding (smiley face).  Shane is hard on stuff clothing, dirt bikes, you name it he gets good use out of it, but if I don’t want to be replacing it in the blink of an eye I have to make sure it is the best of the best.  This year if you read my post I was hoping to get away from this trend of buying dirt biking gear, and I did it for sure.  His gift is something he won’t buy for himself and I put extra thought into because of what I put on it.  I will stop teasing you but know that I will have a blog post covering his much anticipated gift hopefully he loves it and you are all not disappointed!!

Whirlwind

Wow a lot has happened since I last blogged, no worries nothing bad just busy; Shane’s birthday, a fishing clinic, Father’s Day, me being gone for a week for work, and then a race in Belfry. I am exhausted just typing it.
Fishing Clinic/Father’s Day

This seems like the logical place to start my typing journey. Months ago I got a flyer from school that was for a fishing clinic held at the Silos put on by the local Walleye Unlimited group.  Well it was free and the girls love fishing plus they got free fishing poles, tackle boxes with tackle, t-shirts and lunch so I figured why not.  Well it so happened that I thought Shane would be with us on this adventure because I really don’t fish, yeah I have a pretty pink fishing pole but it has only actually been cast a couple of times, unfortunately he had to go branding with his dad this particular day (I wasn’t mad he felt bad, I was disappointed for sure).  But there are way worse things to dwell on in this life so off fishing we went, I invited my parents to come out and hang with us and thankfully they did because it was well worth the amusement watching my dad show the girls how to cast correctly and them do the exact opposite and drive him crazy I thought only I had that capability, darn it!  But they had a great time and my parents hung out most of the day we had lunch and enjoyed the gorgeous weather.  The girls were already asking if we could do it again next year and if they will let us I would gladly sign them it was such a great event.

1st Annual Fathers Day Ride for the Girls

This Father’s day was a first for my girls. Yes it is true they have celebrated Fathers Day with their daddy for the last 8 years but this year was different.  The girls got invited on Shane’s annual Fathers Day ride, you see Shane and his dad go dirt bike riding every Fathers Day and they have done this for years and years.  Well this year there was two little girls to join them and they couldn’t have been any more excited.  I made sure they have their gear and gave Shane my camera so he could take some pictures because of course I wanted pictures of their first Daddy Daughter Ride.  True to his word he took pictures and although I am sure it was a much slower pace than they usually go the girls came back so happy and full of stories it was so cute.  I don’t ever wish to be invited on this day first because it is Daddy Daughter Ride and also I won’t lie about the fact that being home all by myself was very productive, the lawn got mowed, dinner was made on time, laundry was done and the house was clean. And to top it all off I got to catch up on my all DVR’d shows!

Being Gone for Work/Race in Belfry
I do work for the School districts in the State of Montana and I love my job, the only down side is I hardly ever get out of the office and get to meet the people that work at the schools.  So Tuesday morning I left for Billings to go to the MASBO conference and meet some of the Business Managers and Clerks.  It was great getting to meet all the people I talk to, email and write, but it was also hard leaving my family.  To complicate leaving we had a trail race in Belfry last weekend and so we were planning on leaving Friday with the camper.  Well if you have ever driven to Belfry you get very close to Billings so we had decided that Shane would just pick me up in Billings on Friday and we would head that direction.  So to complicate the fact that my husband has never single parented for 4 days/3 nights before as I have never been away from my kiddos that long, he got the privilege of packing part of the camper, taking two little girls to softball practice and games, preparing dirt bikes and of course it is summer so he is swamped with work.  Oh the fun (I say this while smiling kind of evil like and keeping my fingers crossed it all goes somewhat smoothly).  So, I had Monday off work and I packed all the things I could in the camper, made up a list of stuff he would have to throw in there Thursday night or Friday morning, got the girls bags packed for the camping weekend and in the camper,  got the house straightened up all while packing two bags for me one to go in the camper and the other to go to Billings with me.  YIKES is all I have to say Monday night I was exhausted!!  I am sure from some of the phone conversations everyone was a little more stressed out than usual but they survived with few scars.  I was picked up in Laurel instead of Billings and when they picked me up I was at Walmart and had all our groceries purchased.  The weekend in Belfry was fun, not that I am saying I want to go back there sagebrush, cactus and rattlesnakes are not really my idea of a tropical vacation or even plain fun for that matter, but it was a good weekend spent with my family and that part I loved.  Kaleigh took 6th and Lauryn took 7th out of 15 riders, and Shane got 6th, and moved up in the points so that is always a good thing.  Overall the weekend was full of memories.

Shane on the starting line he is #3, see that green front fender that would be my man :)

So there you have it my husband did wonderful single parenting although he assured me he prefers to keep me around to help out which is of course exactly what I wanted to hear. J I hope everyone else had a great week and weekend too!!

Baby Daddy, Best Friend, Amazing

Wow did I really just say all of that about one person? Yes I did!!
I should start with the notice that everyone always asks me if I get spoiled on my birthday or if it is forgotten. This all being because my birthday happens to fall on Christmas day. Well to be honest I get completely and utterly spoiled!! My husband goes out of his way to make sure that my birthday is celebrated and that I feel special on Christmas Day. He pulls it off every year and every year I think I can’t get any luckier. Well as you might already know Shane’s birthday is today and Sunday is Father’s Day so there have been a couple of times where his birthday has fallen on another special day and I go out of my way to make sure he feels the way he makes me feel.  So the fun began this morning.
The girls woke up in time to wake up their daddy and give him their presents for him. I would like it noted that we spent almost three hours last night shopping because they really weren’t sure what to get him and I wanted them to pick it out I did have to navigate them away from a few things. Kaleigh really wanted to get him like six million things she had four whole outfits (pants, shirts and shoes) picked out and mommy made her pick a shirt and pants as the shoes she wanted were definitely going to be too small although I know he would have loved them in his size.  Then Lauryn just didn’t know what to get him at first and started to think about getting him tools I tried to steer her away a little as he works all day so I told her maybe something more fun.  Well she ended up with a fishing tackle box, some storm matches, and an emergency rain poncho. All very useful gifts J
So you may have noticed I did not list a gift from me well that is because he made me promise to not go overboard for his birthday and Fathers Day and I honestly had no clue what I was going to get him until late last night.  So this morning he got a card from me, a cup of coffee and some breakfast to go.  That should keep him wondering. Tonight he will get breakfast for dinner, and a bag full of candy and Monsters (the energy drink).  Wonder what he will be thinking J
And Fathers Day he will get his present when I decide which one I am getting him J
Yes I hadn’t decided until right now and it took a friend to help me. I usually find a gift for Shane and am so excited about it that I have to give it to him early but this time I have been going back and forth between three gifts.  Hopefully he loves what he gets I will post pictures on Monday J  The thing is it is really hard to pick a gift for someone when I want it to reflect how much he means to me.  Corny sounding maybe but I put that much thought into my gifts to him.  Shane is amazing, yes he drives me crazy sometimes and sometimes I do wonder how we have made it this far, but he takes his job as husband and father very seriously.  He stresses out over money and worries if he misses one of the girls soccer (now softball) games, he wants to be home at night to tuck them in and read a book with them, he loves to go play basketball with them and he loves it even more that they are getting into dirt bike riding and want to spend all their time with him, they want to go to the shop and fix stuff and change air filters and tires and anything daddy is doing is what they want to be doing.  It is the cutest thing in the world sad for me just a little (that is just me being a little selfish) because I know that if they got to choose to hang out with daddy or hang out with mommy they would pick daddy and I am always wishing I would get picked first J I know so elementary, oh well a girl can wish.
But seriously Shane puts so much stress on himself and takes on so much stress he does so much, that his gift from me has to be well perfect. I put so much stress and thought into it I want him to open it and love it, I mean LOVE it.  I want it to reflect how much I appreciate all he does all the stress all the worry and all the work.  Because nobody and I mean nobody could ask, wish or hope for a better father for their kids and a better husband.
Enough with my ramblings if you haven’t picked up on the fact that I am smitten with my hubby well you weren’t reading my blog closely enough. Hope all of you fathers have a wonderful day and get out and enjoy some sunshine with your kids.

Memorial Day Weekend + Wednesday Nite

Uncle Phil, Daddy, the Girls and the waterfall
they climbed!

Yep I am combining my weekends and days well it all revolves around one thing these days anyway and that is dirt bikes. I believe I have mentioned before how much my children love playing outside as in they don't play video games hardly ever or watch a lot of tv and since we don't have a computer or internet there isn't a lot of that happening either. But they do have a trampoline, a huge swingset/fort that their daddy built them, skateboards, bicycles, a basketball hoop and tons of imagination. My girls literally spend all day outside sometimes including eating breakfast, lunch and dinner outside, it is CRAZY!!
We start with Rain oh I mean Memorial Day Weekend and what would the weekend  be without all four seasons usually within a 24 hour period. It was fun though we went to Radersburg and camped with friends and I got to see my godson's whom I haven't seen in forever.
So we camped made lots of smores and of course rode. It was a great weekend with my family and friends. A girl couldn't ask for much more.
