Ain't About Easy

Heard this song today and I had to share, it's life, and it's worth all the work.

Day 13 & 14 - Patience & Fly

These are combining today in this post, because well I was busy getting stuff ready for youth hunting that starts tomorrow.  I believe we are ready to go and tackle our second year of youth hunting and I am so thankful it is a family affair.

So patience comes with one year of hunting under their belts, this is daddy and daughters.  Hubby has been hunting for years, however last year was his first with two 12 year olds and let me tell you if that doesn't test your patience I am pretty sure you are unshakable. They did awesome, they listened, they waited, and they learned.  They learned with us, things we do instinctively after years of hunting, they have to be taught.  They have to be taught just like we were taught, only we as adults forget we were taught and now take it as common sense. Funny how that works isn't it. I think I went along to remind all that and there is nothing better than spending time together. Our patience is greater and our memories are forever in our hearts.

Fly, to be who you are whether that is great or small, everyone has a place in this world.  We are always telling the girls we want you to go to college. Hubby and I have not finished college I am working on it but it is slow and that is ok, I have to admit I know plenty of people that did not complete college that have good jobs and do what they enjoy.  I have a job I enjoy, it is not my dream job of teaching but I can't complain I have a great boss and fabulous coworkers.  The thing is that every job has a place in this world, you might think he is just the garbage truck driver, but to someone else he is a dad, a brother, a husband, and without him you would be doing it yourself so just because it isn't your place in this world don't knock someone else's place. Fly to where you want to be, take chances keep stepping out on that limb and take flight.  You might be surprised where you land.

Day 12 - Storm

Not too much to say today, was just thinking about the word and all the storms we have all weathered that we didn't think we would make it through.  Every fork in the road, every rough sea, thinking back on all the storms that God has brought me to and through.  This songs always makes me sing along as it is so true. They have all run out of rain, because I have never given up.

Day 11 - Rest

While I have gotten a lot done today, I have taken time to do it and feel rested. I can't believe it is Sunday with the girls friend party last night I just feel like I missed the weekend. They had a great time and I hope all the kids did too. I ended up with a total of 13 kiddos at my house and 7 total spending the night. We are old school so the boys went home around 9 or so. It was a fun evening. Woke up this morning with 7 girls sleeping away in the living room. Hubby headed off to sight in his gun a little more and I did a little cleaning, had coffee, and finally woke up the girls around 9:30 as one was leaving around 10:30. I organized my closet, got clothes switched out, cleaned, made packing lists for hunting camp, and got chili in the slow cooker. One of the best parts though was coloring. I love coloring and the girls got these great books for Christmas  last year and new gel pens for their birthday. Oh the fun, so relaxing and now I feel rested for the short week ahead and then youth hunting starts. So exciting.
Cheers to a new week when was the last time you sat and colored?

Day 10 - Ready

Ready Set Blog

Funny I was thinking about this post today and was unsure what to write. Then I saw a post on Facebook and it clicked and the answer is no I am not ready. I don't want my girls to grow up,  but I do I know they will be great ladies and I am excited for the adventures I well hey to witness but I miss having my babies. People always say how did you do it with two and we just did wet never had just one and I am so thankful for that. Two was right for us little did we know we were ready for two. I am just not ready for them to grow so quickly. They are growing so fast and I am not ready.

What are you thinking about?  Are you ready to share?

Day 9 - Trust

It is Friday!!! Thank Goodness, I have been thinking of today's word most of the day. Not sure what will happen when I start typing but let's hope it is readable.

TRUST

I say it over and over, I want to be able to trust my kids and have them trust me in return.  I think that trust is the most important thing in any relationship and my relationship with my daughters' I don't want to be any different.  Thankfully, in 13 years we have only had some minor fibbing, like me asking did you brush your teeth and them saying yes, and then when I go check toothbrushes they are bone dry because my mom intuition said they were fibbing. I can't handle that I don't like and and I am pretty vocal so they know. Bigger things like did you stay at so and so's house or are you smoking would become a jury and trial matter. My kids know their dad and I can grab their phone at any time and look at their text messages, and I have it set up so I can see them all online. Thankfully I don't have to really if they are questioning something or know they aren't supposed to they don't. We don't allow texting during school, they are there to learn and their education is very important to us. During lunch or letting me know they are leaving is cool but texting friends or anybody pretty much besides their dad and I during school is a grounding and mom/dad choice chore offense.  The phones are not mandatory just a convenience as we don't have a land line.  Trust is so important once it is broken it has to be earned back and that is not an overnight magic trick it is a long slow process. Let me instill the value of trust in my kids and I feel I have succeeded.

What do you think of when you hear the word TRUST?

Day 8 - Purple

31 Days of blogging for just 5 minutes, nothing fancy, no editing, just writing, sharing, remembering, logging, loving.

I have to admit today's word had me stumped, PURPLE? Where does one go with that, my purple bruise looks better today, I love the color purple, the sky is a really cool pink purple color? I mean really???? Well while I was thinking about it, the March of Dimes had my back. I received a really cool email from them titled, "Who will you Post Purple for?." The idea is to take a minute to jot a note, a memory, a wish or a hope about a moment that was unforgettable, if you are a parent/grandparent the moment you found out you were going to be, was probably pretty unforgettable. The moment you found out the sex, or that you were having multiples, the moment you went into labor, saw that tiny face for the first time, maybe even had to say goodbye all too soon those were all pretty unforgetable. The March of Dimes is an organization I truly believe in, healthy moms, healthy babies and less and less premature birth.  Please go to the link below and share your PURPLE POST. I shared mine!
