Basketball 2014 Champs

They did it again they took the champ title for rec league. They may not play spirit league but they definitely had the best team spirit of any team they played they listened to every call and practiced hard every time. They left it all on the court and learned the honest truth about sports that even the best fall sometimes. Every player will have a bad game and lose sometimes but if you don't practice hard and truly love the game you have no business on the court. Love the smiles on their faces win or lose they love the game!!

As a parent all I can say is I hope every time my daughter's go on the court to play any sport that they smile and have fun that is what makes them so fun to watch not whether they win or lose just that they try and have fun.

Vegas Baby!!

A big memory for hubby and I this year was our trip to Vegas, we have both been before when we were way younger, but not as adults. Thanks to some great friends who invited us to join them and watch Nitro Circus, we headed to Vegas the end of January.  Our girls headed to my parents house Thursday night, and after a late phone call with one who was in tears because she missed us already, we headed out to the airport at 4am, YIKES!! One airplane to Denver CO, then another to San Francisco CA and then onto Vegas baby.  As a fun side note my hubby is a lifetime Seahawks fan can you imagine the fun he was having in the Denver and San Francisco airports, oh yes he just couldn't resist. Thankfully with little fanfare we made it Vegas and to our hotel, it was a long morning but we only had so much time so we met up with our friends and headed out to see what kind of trouble we could get into.  Walking the Vegas strip is an adventure all its own, I definitely saw things I wish I hadn't some things that were so cool I was in awe, and some things that just plain made me wonder.  But we had so much fun, we stayed at the MGM Grand and walked down to the Bellagio to watch the water show, went in and out of a ton of hotels, found some little dive places to eat and drink. It was amazing, and yes we even gambled a little (don't tell hubby but the man is a good poker player he just gets the game when to fold em and when to hold em).

Saturday morning came early, but up we got and went and had lunch at the Rainforest Cafe and then  headed down to the lobby so we could get autographs from the Nitro Circus crew, it was a long two hours we stood in line but well worth it to see the looks on my girls' faces when we gave them their posters with all those autographs, plus hubby is like a big kid and was in complete awe along with the rest of us, very cool. Nitro Circus was the whole reason we went to Vegas and if you like seeing bmx bikes, skateboards, and motorcycles do amazing tricks and flips you have got to go to one of their shows they deliver in every aspect. So amazing, in fact hubby was hoarse Sunday because he was hollering and cheering so much. Now I said Saturday morning came early well Sunday morning was seen without sleep, oh yes we pulled an all nighter, we had to be at the airport by 4:30am anyway so we figured there was no point in going to bed.  One airplane to San Francisco and one airplane to Bozeman and we headed to Chico Hot Springs for a decompression.  I love Chico, no TV's, a bar, top notch service, and 5 star food, not to mention the hot springs.  Monday morning was a soak, breakfast and a drive home.  It was definitely a whirlwind trip but it was a great start to a new year and I did have one of the best traveling partners a girl could ask for!

Cheers to a new year full of fabulous memory making moments!!

It's the little things

I linked up last week with Sarah Jo over at Paper-Bark Burch. That was a great post to get to write it reminded me and we could all use some reminders to be grateful for everything we have even when sometimes it doesn't feel like much.

8. Non-sensitive skin so I can wash dishes by hand when necessary
9. The wind as it reminds me that I have a house to be protected in.
10. Good interview skills they help me better my families and I's future.
11. Online degree programs without them I would never be able to attain my teaching degree.
12. Answered prayers although the answer hurt it was an answer and for that I am thankful.
13. My sister some people take their siblings for granted I am thankful I have her.
14. Motivation to workout
15. God's ever continuous support and love.

These are just a few things from the past week.

What are you thankful for?

Perfect for me

Youth Sports

I saw this article today on a friend's Facebook post and couldn't help but share

Six Words Parents Need to Say to Their Kids About Sports or Any Performance

I hope you enjoy it as much as I did, this article really made me think. I would love to hand it out before every youth sporting event. You see my husband and I have seen the good, bad, and ugly at our daughter's youth basketball games. Coaches acting like it is the NBA, parents acting like their children have sponsorship deals, it is out of hand. Since when did kids not get to just play, learn, and have fun. YIKES!!!

Write & Gifts

So I have been slacking in blogging, so many excuses but nothing that is blog worthy. I have been busy, feeling unmotivated, trying to find motivation to workout again, trying to find my way so to speak. So I am combining two link-ups.  My Five Minute Friday over at Lisa Jo Baker and a new one called New Every Morning over at Paper-Bark Burch.  I love both of these, it will be my first time actually linking up with Sarah Jo over at Paper-Bark Burch but I have been following her for a little while and loving the idea of this. It really makes you think and appreciate every minute.

So here we go ready, steady, GO...

The New Every Morning is so wonderful you get to be thankful for every little thing or big thing but I have been keeping a gratitude journal it is really just a little notebook I got at the dollar store that I write little things in that I am thankful for it reminds me that the day wasn't really that bad that life really isn't that rough and that God gives us blessings in so many different ways it all depends on on we look at it. So here are some of my entries.

  1. A husband who surprises me by emptying the dishwasher (I hate this task more than cleaning the bathroom)
  2. Flexible hours at work if I get there at 8:30 it is not the end of the world.
  3. A work enviroment that is family friendly.
  4. Warm socks as I hate being cold
  5. My mom because she really is amazing and I strive to be like her, she is a grizzly bear mama for sure she protects her family because we are her world.
  6. My parents marriage, they have been married for 38 years together for much longer and they just keep going, I know it wasn't all easy they let us see some of the hard times so we weren't delusional going into our own relationships but they stood together and still do. AMAZING!!
  7. A garage that keeps the snow off my car so I don't have to sweep it, but also the car sweeper so when I am at work I can sweep off my car and my coworkers because it is fun being sneaky nice.

STOP

There you go, I write becuase it I love it, I write to share a little of my world and my outlook on said world, I write so our family can keep up with our craziness, I write because it is me.

FMF: BLAME
