He's a Quitter, Yeah Baby

So you are probably thinking I have gone mad, but I am truly celebrating quitting today.

My hubby has been a non-smoker (quitter) for 1 month as of today and I could not shout out my support, awe, excitement and love for him anymore.  I am always proud of him he has a strong work ethic, he values his family more than anything else, and well he is just plain amazing. However when he broke his leg a month ago it was a blessing in disguise. You see I have always wanted him to quit, I hate the smell of cigarettes, they are a terrible nasty habit and I have always been fearful that our girls will think this gross and nasty habit is OK because their hero, their daddy smoked. Well the Lord knew what he was doing when Shane was caught by a gust of wind and pogo'd on his bike, breaking his leg.  Hubby stopped smoking the day of surgery and hasn't picked up a nasty cigarette since. And he has had the opportunity, friends will come over and smoke around him, it irks me but he powers through it, and he has been to the store and could have bought some and didn't. I can't believe it he has wanted to quit for so long and has never been able to kick the habit completely. Funny how many people will read this and would have never know if not for this post that he smoked trust me I have had some people look at me like I was crazy for saying he smoked but he did. He is officially a quitter in my book and I am so proud of him. Definitely celebrating this victory, although a broken leg and surgery is not how he planned to quit smoking and definitely not the preferred way, everything happens for a reason. Thank the Lord for this blessing in disguise!!

May Cara Box

OK so I am majorly late and embarrassed that I haven't blogged about this yet. Yikes to the month of May is all I have to say and good riddance to it being over.

So I have done a couple of these now and I love them, if you need an explanation or are interested in signing up for July check out Kaitlyn at Wifessionals. If you don't want to sign up you have to check her out anyway because her blog is totally cute and I love the name.

Anyway on to the month of May, well I did some shopping for Angela over at The Harrels on Hood and then I didn't package it and mail it because Hubby broke his leg and surgery and yeah we could just say life was winning. However she is super nice and understanding and it went out in the mail today and I am praying she loves it. So definitely go check out her blog for when she posts and links up.

I received my box from Erin over at The Grass Skirt. OK so her blog name is super adorable too and she does an amazing job shopping.  Here is what I got from her region, South Carolina. Love it.

1. Hand soap that smells amazing
2. Veggie dip that has already been devoured
3. Gardening gloves that I desperately needed, for some reason I go through these babies like crazy
4. Strawberry preserves yum on an English muffin
5. A beer coozie, Oh yeah
6. A cookbook that centrals on berries, I can't wait to start baking
7. And a great postcard that is still on the pantry door.

Love Cara Box and all the lovely ladies I meet through it.

Fall, Oh Heck I Fell

I have been missing this Friday Link Up so this week I made a point to make sure I took the time to link up with Lisa-Jo over at Lisa-Jo Baker. Her Five Minute Friday is just what the doctor ordered as far as blogging is concerned. So here we go...

FALL

OK so I took this to past tense and am going with I FELL, if you haven't been reading my blog my hubby broke his leg beginning of May, while in California (we live in Montana). You can read about that here 7 Screws, 1 Rod . Well I fell off the sanity wagon about a week after surgery, maybe it was two weeks who is counting I have lost all since of time. I am pretty organized, majorly OCD, and may or may not be a control freak. So putting me in a situation where the patient was a little grouchy because he is hyperactive and sitting around for that long with nagging pain and not being able to do much is not his cup of tea, and then me not being able to do anything about it was let's say interesting. So I had a couple of breakdowns I would say three altogether did you know that stress can make your memory worse. Yeah well yikes, I forgot last weekend to put water in the camper and we went took a jaunt to a cross country race. I had like an hour long cry fest over this hubby wasn't upset at all he just went with the flow nobody to blame we both didn't think of it. Thankfully my father-in-law helped us out and hauled some water to our camper. But yikes it was at that moment I realized I can't do it all no matter how much I want to it just isn't possible.
I promise I am back to my sane self, or at least my normal. Thankfully God was just giving me enough stress to bring me closer to him and to keep me on my toes He knew what he was doing the whole time.

If you are struggling with writing take this five minute exercise and then link up your post with Lisa-Jo it is therapeutic.
