Thankfulness Thursdays Week 5

Oh yes it is Thursday again, I so look forward to this link up every Thursday it puts me in a mood for sure. How can you not smile and be happy when you thinking about what to be thankful for this week?

Well I have been thinking about this almost all morning and was actually having a hard time because the first two things that came to mind were my kids and hubby, then the next thing that came to mind was the men in my life. And while all of these are blog worthy discussion topics and I am always thankful for them, the first two I have written about and didn't want to do a repeat and the last one is a blog post that needs to be written all for itself. So while I was typing this it came to me, I am thankful for the girls' school and all the wonderful staff.

The girls' school, I won't mention by name as that is a little over sharing on my part and gives too much information to the world wide web. But it is an amazing elementary school, in fact I went there for school and I loved it so much that me and some of my girlfriends used to go back and volunteer when we were in middle school and had days off that the elementary kids didn't. I know we were crazy but when you go to a school that the staff feels like family it is hard not to go back and visit.

My girls are in different classrooms again this year, which is good because even though they are twins they are completely different.

So while we are going to their classrooms it takes us forever to get there because we are stopped by past teachers that had the girls that just want to give them a hug or say hi. We are stopped by the principal because she wants to know how their summer on dirt bikes went. I mean in a school the size of theirs the principal alone is amazing she gets to know every child she remembers their names she is amazing. I am so thankful that when my children are at school during the day I am not worrying about anything happening to them and maybe that is naive but the staff care so much and yes in just the four years my girls have been there I have seen some staff come and go but some of those going needed to go because they didn't have the compassion and drive and love of their job the way the rest of the staff does.

So today I am thankful that I can send my girls to school and know that someone realizes how amazing they are to me and thinks they are amazing too.

What are you thankful for?

Thankfulness Thursdays: Week 4

Please go check out Thankfulness Thursdays over at Domestic Fashionista and link up your blog and share what you are thankful for this Thursday.

What am I thankful for? I knew this morning when I woke up I was going to write a post today, it is Thursday afterall and one of my favorite linkups is today: Thankfulness Thursdays.  I have been stressing this week, for reasons all women understand my hormones are all out of whack, ugghh. But even with all the stress and the mood swings, life is good.

Today while reading some fellow bloggies posts I got tears in my eyes. Kelly over at Enjoying the Small Things shared a letter to her daughter she wrote, it was so sweet and reminded when that my babies are going to start the 4th grade in a week, yes people one week. I am sad thinking about it happy because for the most part they love school but so sad that they are growing so quickly and all I did was blink. However I am hoping Kelly doesn't mind me stealing her idea because I have already been writing letters to my girls in my head since reading her post. What a great idea!

My second tear up moment came from Alisa at Project Happily Ever After, where she posted about her daughter not wanting her to sleep with her anymore and how it always makes you proud as a parent but it is bittersweet also because well her post says it the best "You'll Never Get This Moment Back".  It is really is the best reminder.

So I am thankful today for the last 9 1/2 years I have had with two of the most amazing kids in the world. I cherish every little memory we make together and every mommy and I love you makes every rough time worth it all. I know that I will blink and another 9 years will have flown by and I will be at their high school graduation but for right now I am holding onto every kiss, I Love You, cuddle and love, every little moment that makes the journey so much sweeter, all because I am blessed to be a mom.

I love you Kaleigh & Lauryn!!

14. A skin-care regimen, an exercise routine and a plan for dealing with those few other facets of life that don’t get better after 30.

15. A solid start on a satisfying career, a satisfying relationship and all those other facets of life that do get better.

Thankfulness Thursday: Week 3

Please go check out Thankfulness Thursdays over at Domestic Fashionista and link up your blog and share what you are thankful for this Thursday.

Now on to Blogging: So between Thankfulness Thursdays and the Click a Pic Challenge I am loving blogging again. I am reminded with these two link ups why I started in the first place which was to document parts of our life, mostly the good stuff. You will not find any posts on here about my marriage struggles (let's be honest everyone has those) and you won't find me complaining (well very often). I like to tell you all about the highlights from my day, week or weekend. I like to come to my blog and be reminded that I am blessed every day with something even if that day was rough I am always blessed. I like to come to my blog to remember something that I love a recipe, person, charity. I use this blog as a sort of journal but just about the things I want to share and sometimes there are blog posts that I write and don't publish because I needed to get them off my chest but don't need the entire blogosphere knowing the ugly details. So today on Thankfulness Thursday I am Thankful for my blog. It has been a great creative outlet and I have met some wonderful people, been able to keep some of our family in the loop of our world and really enjoyed sharing my love of writing. Who knew I would enjoy writing so much but I do I love sharing my random thoughts, my family adventures, and pictures of our family. It is wonderful and stress relieving and I love it. So today I say THANK YOU to blogspot for giving me this creative outlet that allows me to remember that I am blessed.

Quick Biscuits

So I ran out of biscuits the other night and my hubby loves bread with dinner so to save my dinner. I did a quick search online and found a fabulous recipe for biscuits that are a cinch to whip up and cook in mere minutes. (unfortunately I can't find the website to link to so you have a better picture)

Here are the ingredients
• 1 cup flour
• 1/2 tsp baking powder
• 1 tsp salt
• 1/2 cup milk
• 2 tbsp mayo
• 1 tsp oregano (I used Italian seasoning mix as I didn't have any oregano)

Mix together in bowl and drop by 1/4 cup on greased baking sheet, it makes about 6 biscuits. Cook at 500 degrees for 10 minutes.

Enjoy!!

Plastic Balloons

A childhood classic was brought back into my life via the dollar store. Oh yes while cruising the aisles of the dollar store looking for some stuff for my latest attempt at a chore chart and organization for my daughters these babies caught my eye.

Now if you have never played with these you may want to stop reading now because this post won't be nearly as exciting.  However I remember these from when I was younger and I loved them. Make your own balloons, well I am a crafting geek so making anything by myself sounds FABULOUS!  I had to buy some of these so my girls could enjoy the memory of playing with a toy from my childhood. Well I took the package to my parents house because it was Friday and my mom watches my girls during the summer. She also watches my nephew and niece so fun was had by all.

Her eyes would get bigger and bigger the bigger the
balloon got. So funny.

Look at her go! Her cheeks would fill with air like a chipmunk.

All Emmalee wanted to do was pop them she loved the sound
and to feel of them in her hands. Lucky for her she is cute.

There was a lot of spit in his bubbles and he ended up popping
them all after he showed Maka but he thought it was great fun.

Our Finished Products

While I was online looking for a picture because I didn't take a picture of the package before it got destroyed I found a blog that is so cute, Me & The Mexican, she does a Thursday Throwback that is what actually brought me to her blog. The post is titled the same that I titled mine, Plastic Balloons. Check her out and if you are near a dollar store take a stroll through their aisles and see what you may find.

Click a Pic #2

Ok so I may be obsessed with this challenge I just love it and the adventure it takes me on. This week was a new set of words and a new interpretation. I hope you enjoy my pictures this week because this challenge is getting me to share more pictures and also making me use my camera phone a lot more.

Words for the Week
Brand Whore
Meaningful Accessory
Cozy
Quote
Manicure

If you know me I am all about saving money, especially if I can get the same thing
or something similar for less so this one threw me for a loop. I had to go do some
Internet research hoping there was a second meaning for this but to no avail.
However in my Internet searching I ran across a fellow blogger that is
a self proclaimed BRAND WHORE. I am not linking up to her blog as
there were a lot of language used in the post that I do not wish to be linked to my
blog but I did borrow this from the post and thought
it was fitting for a Brand Whore.

My engagement ring and band a very very MEANINGFUL ACCESSORY.
Besides reminding me every minute of every day that I am married
to an amazing man. These two rings are actually family heirlooms. My band
was my grandmothers, we added the two pink stones to signify our girls,
and the diamond represents us. And the engagement ring was my great
grandmothers and is so beautiful they just don't make rings with
such gorgeous detail anymore. Love!

Ok so odd looking picture. My here are my favorite COZY
North Face fleece pants and my COZY slippers. Oh Fall can't come quick
enough so I can slip these back on and not sweat to death in them. :)

"Grant me patience to deal with my blessings" oh yes some days
this QUOTE gets me through amazing things. It is located
above my kitchen cabinets and some days the reminder
is a blessing unto itself.

Wow not the most flattering picture, but hey I never claimed
to be a foot model. MANICURE, pedicure, whatevercure. I
do not do a lot with my fingernails besides break them,
playing with my girls, mowing the lawn, you get the idea.
I do however do self pedicures. I love painting my toes,
because toes are really ugly in general anything looks better than plain.
See the little butterfly on my big toes? And I am totally loving
this color blue.

Click a Pic Challenge

So I found one of the greatest photo challenges every. I tried the photo a day challenge can we say FAILURE, and I have tried a couple others like Photo Dump. I am not good at these but this one is fun.

Here are the words
BUN
WORKOUT
SUMMER
GLITTER
PINK

So here goes nothing on my first Click a Pic Challenge

My hair just needs to be a little longer and
I can get this messy BUN look. LOVE IT!!

Love Jillian and getting my WORKOUT on!
Between this and running
I feel so much more confident in my own skin.

This is SUMMER to me, love race season and
the bond my husband has with our daughters!
He is a superhero to them.

Oh yes I did! Do you see the GLITTER and
shine, love me some kisses!

Yes a PINK googly eyed ring.
Lauryn gave it to me 3 years ago and I don't wear it very often
but it is in my jewelry box all the same!
And there you have it my interpretation of 5 words in picture. So much fun!

Thankfulness Thursday

I just came across this link up from another blogger Grapefruit Princess Reloaded, she visited my blog from another link up I participated in and when I went to visit her page this was her today post. It made me smile, almost made me cry and in general the thought really touched me.

Today I am thankful for two healthy girls, although they are 9, I still remember the day they were born and all the fear and love that flooded my heart.

I am also thankful for an amazing husband we have had bumps in the roads and even some long uphill climbs but we keep walking on the path before us and I couldn't imagine a better partner on this journey.

I may be having a day today, a girl I know is having pregnancy complications and my hubby is going away for a few days to bond with the boys on a backpacking expedition. He won't be gone long and really it is not the end of the world distance makes the heart grow fonder, but he is my best friend and I will miss him like crazy. The girl having pregnancy complications makes me remember my flight to Great Falls and all the wonderful nurses that took care of me, hubby and our girls. NICU nurses are amazing people! I still remember the one nurse that told me to stop making a mountain out of a mole hill. Yeah it seemed harsh at the time but extra worry and stress was not giong to fix anything and she knew it, she needed me positive and helpful not dragging the ship down. I am praying for this girl and her baby and their family as it is hard when God has other plans than those that we set out in front of ourselves, and it is really hard when we lose control of a situation and have to rely on others.

So today I am grateful for the blessings that God has given me and all the bumps in the road that He sets before me. As He never gives me anything I can't handle.
